This back patio in Elko New Market had sunk and was directing water straight toward the foundation. That's a problem on two levels - literally and practically. Water pooling against a foundation is one of those slow-moving issues that gets expensive fast if you ignore it.
On top of the drainage issue, the settled concrete had created a real trip hazard right outside the back door. Not ideal when you're stepping in and out every day. These are exactly the kinds of problems that concrete lifting is built to fix - no demolition, no replacement, just raising what's already there back to where it belongs.
We lifted the patio slab 4 inches using our mudjacking process. That's enough to flip the drainage slope completely - water now runs away from the house instead of toward it. The slab went from being a liability to doing exactly what it's supposed to do again.
What we love about concrete raising is how straightforward the result is. The patio is solid, it's level, and the trip hazard is gone. No torn-up yard, no weeks of waiting for new concrete to cure, no massive bill for a full replacement. Just a fixed patio that works.
